Position Title: Director of Alumni Relations & Ouachita Student Foundation
Reports To: Vice President for Institutional Advancement
Department: Alumni Relations

Position summary

The Director of Alumni Relations & Ouachita Student Foundation is responsible for fostering meaningful connections between alumni and their alma mater, engaging them through events, communication, and volunteer opportunities. This role focuses on maintaining relationships, promoting alumni involvement, and enhancing the alumni community’s overall experience. The Director also oversees the Ouachita Student Foundation.

Key responsibilities

Alumni Engagement:

  • Develop and refine strategic programming to enhance alumni engagement, assess the effectiveness of current initiatives, and implement improvements as necessary.
  • Collaborate with campus partners to ensure cohesive messaging and programming aligned with institutional goals.
  • Serve as a primary liaison to alumni, keeping them informed of campus news and upcoming events through various communication channels.

Communication and Outreach:

  • Create, edit, and oversee alumni communications, including emails, the Ouachita Circle alumni magazine, website content, and social media posts.
  • Partner with the Development team to maintain accurate alumni records, including contact information and career details.

Alumni Advisory Boards:

  • Recruit, coordinate, and engage members of the Alumni Advisory Board and Young Alumni Advisory Board.
  • Facilitate meetings, events, and other activities for advisory board members.

Event Planning and Coordination:

  • Plan and host signature alumni events such as the Homecoming Reunion Dinner, 50th Reunion Dinner, Gold Tiger Day, and Senior Dinner.
  • Lead the planning and execution of annual Homecoming activities, including the Purple Plaza Party, Senior Walk Ribbon Cutting, and Homecoming Tailgate.
  • Organize niche alumni events, such as reunions for social clubs, athletic teams, artistic groups, and academic departments.
  • Oversee the operation of the Ouachita Alumni CubZone for families during home football games.

Ouachita Student Foundation Oversight:

  • Guide and mentor the Ouachita Student Foundation’s leadership and membership, overseeing weekly meetings, the membership and scholarship selection process, and the annual Tiger Tunes event.
  • Support and collaborate with OSF to achieve goals that align with the institution’s mission and priorities.

Collaborative Initiatives:

  • Work with the Admissions Counseling team to support the Tiger for Life Legacy Program and other student recruitment initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Career and Calling to link alumni with current students and graduates for networking, career opportunities, and relocation support.
  • Represent Ouachita at external events, such as the Arkansas Baptist State Convention and the Southern Baptist Convention.

Administrative Oversight:

  • Manage shared administrative assistant and student workers.
  • Stay informed on best practices in alumni relations, student foundation leadership, and event management.

Other:

  • Complete additional assignments as needed.
  • Prepare and submit timely reports on alumni engagement activities.
  • Attend relevant meetings to stay aligned with institutional priorities and initiatives.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; master’s preferred.
  • Experience in alumni relations, development, or a related field is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong communication skills (oral, written, and interpersonal).
  • High level of dependability and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with an aptitude for managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and build relationships with various internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with technology, including data analysis and social media platforms, to effectively manage alumni communications and engagement.

Job Title: Educational Advisor
Department: TRIO Programs—Educational Talent Search
Position Status: Full-time
Reports To: Director of Educational Talent Search

Position summary

TRIO Educational Talent Search invites applications for an Educational Advisor who will be responsible for providing direct educational outreach services to Talent Search participants in grades six through 12. Educational Talent Search is a U.S. Department of Education grant-funded program designed to serve 860 eligible students at 11 public schools in southwest Arkansas.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Develop and present programming to assist program participants in completing high school and preparing to enter higher education.
  • Recruit new program participants.
  • Advise and assist with college enrollment processes.
  • Assist in planning educational and cultural enrichment activities for program participants.

Required education and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • A valid driver’s license and personal vehicle for travel.
  • Ability to travel to target schools frequently.
  • Proficiency in using office technology and computer programs.

Preferred education and experience

  • Experience working with TRIO or similar programs.
  • Experience with college admissions, financial aid and/or advising.
  • Experience in overcoming barriers similar to the target population.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of issues that first-generation and low-income students face.

Position summary

Ouachita Baptist University invites applications for a Production Manager/TD to operate the 1500 seat Jones Performing Arts Center.

Key responsibilities

Responsibilities for this staff position include:

  • The management, upkeep and technical direction of the space
  • Event calendaring
  • Working with event leaders
  • Training/supervision of student workers in the creation and running of events produced by university organizations and off-campus groups, including concerts, touring events, musicals, pageants, summer church camps and chapel programs
  • Serving as the primary contact with all groups using the space

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
  • Experience and knowledge in the safe and current operation of theatrical systems related to sound, lights, projection, rigging and event production
  • Strong personal and collaborative skills that ensure good communication amongst all parties

We are seeking a Programmer Analyst who will play a vital role in developing and maintaining our ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) and SIS (Student Information System), supporting the university’s mission through innovative coding, database management, and web development.

The Programmer Analyst will design, develop, and maintain applications to support university operations, focusing on PHP, SQL, and database management. This role involves analyzing and enhancing business processes, collaborating with stakeholders, and developing web solutions using HTML/CSS and related web frameworks. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to teamwork and service.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain custom applications using PHP and SQL.
