Ary Student Investment Fund

The Eddie and Phyllis Ary Student Investment Fund is a stock portfolio that is managed by a team of senior finance students in the Hickingbotham School of Business. Students meet regularly to review current holdings and discuss any recommendations for changes to the portfolio.

Team members are selected through a formal application process in the Spring before their senior year. Each student is assigned a role and is responsible for monitoring a segment of the portfolio. Student managers gain valuable experience in asset allocation, fundamental and technical analysis, and risk management techniques. They also enhance their communications skills as they debate ideas and work together to reach investments decisions. Recent alumni have gone to accept advisory positions with firms such as Ameriprise, AXA Advisors, Charles Schwab, Fidelity, Merrill Lynch, Stephens, and TD Ameritrade.

The Fund is named for Professor Eddie Ary, who started the fund in 2000 as a part of his investments class. Professor Ary retired in 2012 after approximately 30 years of service to Ouachita.
